By Austin Ogwuda

THE Ethiope Federal Constituency seat at the National Assembly which has been in focus since present occupier, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, daughter of two-time governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori decamped from PDP to APC is still very much in the news.

On Thursday afternoon, the PDP secretariat housing the Ethiope West local government chapter of PDP, the home base of the Ibori family was repainted to APC colours, a contestation that is still on, following the claim by the PDP that the secretariat was a government property and not personal property of ex-governor James Ibori.

While the dust was yet to settle, Political leaders from Ethiope East under the umbrella of People’s Democratic Party met and resolved that the next candidate for the office come 2027, must come from Ethiope East on the ground that Ethiope West has occupied that seat for the past 20 years whereas they (East) only tasted it for only 8 years.
